How to add an account credit to a customer's account automatically when they sign up

A great marketing incentive to get folks to sign up for an account and start ordering is to offer them a freebie upon signing up. We have seen some of our vendors offer a credit towards the new customer's first order upon signing up.

How to add an account credit to a customer's account automatically when they sign up:

  1. From your Dashboard, go to the 'Rules' tab

  2. Now, scroll to New Subscription Rules and click the blue box that says 'New Subscription Rule'

  3. For your Ifs, you will select: "Has paid you X times", in the X box, you will put in "0" and then hit save. This will ensure that this customer has never ordered from you before.
  4. You will then create another If. For this one, select Add +"User Has This Tag". In the box, you will put in freeaccountcredit (or some other tag for the customer's who sign up and receive this credit). Before you click "Add Condition" you will check check the 'True on false (reversed)' box. Then click 'Add Condition'.

  5. Next, for your Thens, you will select: "Apply Account Credit". From here, you will enter in the amount you'd like to credit customers upon signing up, and then hit save.

  6. For the second Then, you will select 'Add Tag'. In the box for this tag, you will add the tag freeaccountcredit (or whatever you put in the box above). Once you've added this, click 'Save'.
