How To Setup Custom Away Hours
Maybe you want to have away hours 7 days a week (where you're available during the day, but unavailable at night) and you want to have a deeper level of customization than the built-in Away Hours.
How to setup custom away hours:
- Go to the Dashboard -> Rules
- Select "New Inbound Message Rule"
- In the top-right corner of the new rule, go to "Ifs"
- Click "Add If Time Is Between" (this means the rule will trigger when the inbound message is between certain hours of the day)
- Add hours you'd like to be offline, such as between 6pm-8am
- Click "Add Condition"
- You're now looking at the Thens action options.
- In the top-right corner of the new rule, go to "Ifs"
- Click "Add Last Automated message time ago" (this means the rule will only trigger if you haven't sent an automated message in a while - the idea being you don't want to overwhelm the customer every time they text in)
- To make it wait 12 hours before sending another automated message, put "720" in the box (60 minutes*12 hours)
- Click "Add Condition"
- You're now looking at the Thens action options.
- Click "Send Message"
- Input the message you'd like to send to the customer automatically.
- Click "Save"
