How "Replace With" works

If you offer a "Chosen Box" autofill, each week your customers are set to receive the exact same products this week as they ordered last week. Sometimes, you may want to stop offering an entree, but replace that entree with something else.

The "Replace With Product" feature allows you to, from week to week, replace an expired item with a new item. When Bottle goes to autofill customers' carts with their products for the week, if an items is marked as unavailable but it should go into the customers' cart, the system will look for a "Replace With Product" product to put into the cart instead.

How to use the "Replace With" feature:

  1. Mark the no-longer-available product as "Unavailable"
  2. Choose a "Replace With Product" option from the dropdown after clicking "Edit" on the product.
  3. Make sure the new product is marked as 'Available' and 'Available for all cutoff days'.
  4. Save the product.
  5. Now, instead of autofilling carts with the now-unavailable product, Bottle will fill carts with the new product (as long as the new product is marked as Available).
